Depending on the requirements, filter elements with different filtration stages can be used to achieve the required compressed air class in accordance with ISO 8573-1. The condensate accumulated during filtration can be discharged manually or automatically.

Filtration With the CLEARPOINT® 3eco coalescing filter, the medium flows through the filter element from the inside to the outside. Compressed gas flows into the filter element from where it flows through the filter element into the filter vessel. During this process, particles as well as oil and water aerosols are separated by the filter material. The liquid components in the filter material move downwards due to gravity, drip off and collect at the base of the filter vessel. From there, they are drained off automatically or manually. Over time, particles become deposited in the filter material. This results in an increase in flow resistance (differential pressure) of the filter element. The particle charge or degree of pollution of the filter element can be read off using a differential pressure gauge. More detailed information about this can be found in the installation and operation manual enclosed with the differential pressure gauge.

Condensate discharge through float drain
Float drains are mechanical condensate drains that work automatically as they are closed and opened based on the buoyancy of a float body. When the condensate in the vessel rises to a certain level, buoyant force pushes the float body up and opens the outlet channel for the condensate. The float body closes again when the condensate drops to below a certain level. A small amount of condensate remains in the vessel.
Two different float drains are used for discharging the condensate:
• Open when pressureless ([NO] normally open) – at operating pressure ≤ 0.5 bar(g) the float drain opens
• Closed when pressureless ([NC] normally closed) – the float drain remains closed even at operating pressure 0 bar(g)
Both types of drain are delivered with the position >>Automatic discharge<< from the factory. The knurled screw is screwed downwards as far as it will go. To test the discharge function or relieve the pressure on the filter during maintenance work, the float drain can be set to the position >>mechanically open<<. Screw the knurled screw anti-clockwise (left-hand thread) upwards as far as it will go.

CLEARPOINT 3E https://www.pneumaticshop.in/product/clearpoint-3e/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=clearpoint-3e https://www.pneumaticshop.in/product/clearpoint-3e/#respond Sat, 18 Jun 2022 10:31:38 +0000 https://pneumaticshop.in/?post_type=product&p=8181 The CLEARPOINT principle for the reduction of energy and operating costs During compressed-air processing, the highest saving potential lies in the reduction of the energy costs: depending on the capac¬ity utilisation of the plant, these amount to up to 80% of the total costs. The energy consumption is significantly influenced by the filtration of the compressed air: the pressure drop resulting from filtration needs to be compensated by higher compressor per¬formance to maintain the required operating pressure. The conse¬quences are higher energy demand, premature compressor wear and thus higher costs. With the CLEARPOINT' compressed-air filter series for volume flows from 35 to 34,680 ni/h (at 7 bar), an economic concept for efficient compressed-air filtration is now available. Through inno¬vative filter elements and a flow-optimised, corrosion-protected housing construction, CLEARPOINT offers safe and reliable fil¬tration, and qualitatively better compressed air at significantly re¬duced operating costs.]]> Filtration with 3E: extra efficient
With a unique fibre structure and a new manufacturing technology, the filter elements of the CLEARPOINT series set new standards in compressed-air filtration. For decades, conventional filter media have been manufactured with the addition of binding agents. These can settle on the fibres of the filter medium and reduce the air flow. As a consequence, the pressure difference will be increased.
Optimised material and method
In the new CLEARPOINT 3E filter elements (3E = Energy Efficient Element), the use of binding agents is fully avoided. For the new medium, micro-fine borosilicate fibres and polyester fibres are firmly thermally fused with each other. Here, a high amount of fibres with a smaller diameter ensures a finer fibre structure. The material thus offers a separation surface which is four times larger than the separation surface of conventional filter media, and a larger cavity volume. The long-term stable composition of the fibres ensures high separation efficiency over the full depth of the filter bed and provides long-term support to the dirt retention capacity. Furthermore, this structure enables excellent fluid mechanics and thus additionally reduces the pressure difference. The results are significant energy savings at maximum filtration performance.
Performance comparison: ISO 12500
The performance data of the CLEARPOINT’ 3E filter elements which are offered for different applications and filtration degrees were tested and validated by an independent institution in accordance with the new international filter standard ISO 12500.

The differential pressure can be simultaneously reduced by up to 50% and the energy efficiency can therefore be considerably increased. Taking advantage of new material and production technologies as well as a flow-optimised, corrosion-protected housing design, CLEARPOINT provides safe and reliable filtration and a qualitative improved compressed air with considerably reduced operating costs. The particularly high deposition performance makes it possible to fulfill every compressed air filtration requirement with just 3 filtration rates C, F and S. This makes the maintenance even easier and maintains the high performance values permanently.]]> Filter element: 88FX (Fine filter) SAP-Nr. 4038110 & 88SX (Super fine filter) SAP-Nr. 4038117
The CLEARPOINT filter element is used for the separation of aerosols and solid particles. The very fine borosilicate fibres are the prerequisite for a large cavity volume with a maximum separation surface. This results in very high performances at the lowest differential pressures. The significant performance increase with the CLEARPOINT filters is made possible by pioneering materials: An innovative open synthetic fleece (mesh) on the outside of the filter media ensures the required rigidity for the various filter positions, without thereby reducing the filter surface area. The pioneering production processes by utilising Softpleat technology provide the optimum connection from many surfaces (important for particle deposition) and higher filter bed depths (ensures the deep filtration, especially for oil aerosols).
In accordance with the VDMA recommendation (VDMA 15390), the filter element should be exchanged, depending on the differential pressure, at the latest after 12 months.
Differential-pressure indicator: FDPS
The degree of pollution of the filter elements is indicated by a differential pressure manometer readable on both sides. The scaled announcement makes a direct operating cost analysis possible.
Drain: Manual drain valve
The filter is equipped with a manual drain valve.
